How It All Began…

Over twenty-six years ago Dr. Russ Burcham began talking to missionaries at his church if he could be of help with the blind members of their communities by removing their cataracts, in hopes of demonstrating the love of Christ and renewing their vision.

Nobody knew then how far it would go. What began as one man following a quiet calling has grown into something neither he, nor anyone else, could have planned.

A message at the bottom emphasizes support for restoring sight and sharing Christ's love across Panama, Central America, and Mexico.
Bar chart titled 'Total Ministry Impact' showing four categories: Cataracts, Pterygium, Medical Patients, and Reading Glasses. Cataracts: 2,584, Pterygium: 1,472, Medical Patients: 10,361, Reading Glasses: 6,999. His hope was simple: to demonstrate the love of Christ through compassionate care and renewed vision. No one could have imagined then how far that calling would reach.

What began as one man faithfully answering a quiet call has grown into something far greater than he—or anyone else—could have planned.
